What I Have Been Up to This Week -- and How You Can Help With Next Steps
This 'Hate Comes to Main Street' publication is part of a journey that, with some luck, could end up as a non-fiction book -- with your help!
After a gangbuster first three weeks —
5,000 subscribers and more than 100,000 views! THANK YOU!!! —
I took a brief pause this week for three reasons.
And, before I go on, a special thank you to those who have become paid subscribers to help with the costs of this independent effort. The expenses associated with Hate Comes to Main Street (podcast and editing software, for example) are not covered by my employer.
Here are the reasons that my posts were not as frequent this week:
ONE, the reaction to the John Fugelsang interview has been AMAZING!!! — and I did not want to do anything to step on that excitement.
Did you see it? If not, you have missed a viral conversation. Check it out below:
You can find John’s book, Separation of Church and Hate, in my online bookstore.
Why do you think this interview resonated with so many people?
Let me know what you think in the comments.
TWO, I am still trying to figure out the right flow for this new publication.
Should I post five days a week — which may make it difficult to keep up the quality (given the fact that I still have a day job)?
Three days a week?
Do you want an email every time that I post?
Please let me know in the comments what you think.
But there’s another reason that I pulled back a bit this week — and this is where you come in!
THIRD, I have been putting the finishing touches on a BOOK PROPOSAL that, hopefully, will go out to publishers in the next few weeks!!!
This journey into the world of hate has been incredibly difficult — more difficult than I have fully revealed — but I have learned so much about the challenges that we face as a country! I honestly think I do have a story worth telling.
HERE IS WHERE YOU CAN HELP!
Part of the challenge in taking a proposal to publishers — especially during a difficult time for the publishing industry — is that you have to demonstrate that there is a market for the story that you want to tell.
So…
If you want to help make this project a success, please recommend me on Substack if you are a creator. Word of mouth works too! Encourage your friends to subscribe to this publication, Hate Comes to Main Street.
That will help show publishers that readers want this story to be told!
I will be back next week with more posts.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME TO TELL THIS IMPORTANT STORY!
And here are some other great interviews that you may have missed:

I would much rather see fewer posts with higher quality than a forced daily edition. Your work is so important and a honed powerful message is better. Let the publishers know I want a copy!
